I’ve got a bad case of planter's thumb!
So busy at the moment in the "seed sowing/potting on" department here at CQ HQ!

I've been madly washing out plastic containers. I mostly use things that have contained blueberries or raspberries, sometimes they don’t have holes in the bottom though so I have to do this myself, either by putting said container on a piece of wood and banging a nail in several times or heating up a skewer and melting a hole in the bottom, I don’t recommend this though as it can be a bit hit and miss. Some of the containers already have holes in the bottom which is great.

I use a seed compost, peat free of course and because chillis, peppers and aubergines have to be started so early and as my greenhouse is unheated, these have all been brought into the kitchen and I've put them above a radiator on a window sill. I am pleased to say that almost everything has come up!  Over the next few weeks I will be pricking out and potting on, please join me in the green house on Instagram @cqgardens or on FB - CQ gardens

Thanks my followers I’ve had lots of good advice about which strawberries to grow, they are in my greenhouse and I shall be planting up this week.

The rest of the garden has a real feel of spring about it, despite the fact that we've only had a couple of days of sunshine. The daffodils are going over but the blossom is out on the ornamental cherry and the fruit trees are coming into leaf.

I hope this finds you well, dry and full of chocolate!

Please do let me know how you're getting on with your plants, be they in 40 acres of land, on a balcony, on a window sill or in your mind’s eye.

Lots of love

Caroline

Morning Caroline, like you I’m going to try growing Strawberries this year, however I’m not convinced my little garden gets enough sun BUT I have quite a high wall opposite my kitchen window so I’m going to try them in a hanging basket ! Off to plant centre to see which ones are best 🤞🏻 Bye for now. Rosie
